Getting closer to set on The Diplomat S4

Closer to set means putting craft where the crew actually needs it.

During six weeks on location for The Diplomat Season 4, we looked after more than 150 crew from 6.30 each morning, with barista crafted coffees and freshly baked snacks, right next to set.

Tucked in close to set on distant location.

That meant being close to set and crew wherever the production took us: smack bang next to castles and stately homes on distant locations, and across multiple historic London buildings.

Access and proximity shaped our daily conversations with the Locations team, from finding the right places to park and setting up across London locations to taking craft inside St Olave’s & The Foreign Office.

We worked around access, power, crew movement and timing, adapting as the shooting day and crew numbers fluctuated.

When local authority restrictions prevent us setting up outside, we adapt and move inside.

Being closer to set and crew isn’t just about location.
